31st March,2011.
Just purchased the updated Society book entitled ide Hill. Most interesting presentation, particularly well done. My congratulations to all involved.

Delighted to see my old cottage just above the Village Hall in the illustration on page21. Known as "La Potence" (The Gallows) 1929 --1962 then Bluebell Cottage to 1967 (my residency),then Pooh Corner, heaven knows why ! Pity that page 10 did not include any reference to the 1554 Wyatt Rebellion resulting in the hangings on and naming of Hanging Bank. See my notes of 2003 in the Society's archives.
